Kansas?

I am leaving for Kansas tomorrow to interview for a position in a episcopal campus ministry at either Kansas University or Kansas State University. I'll be there from Wednesday to Saturday to get the feel for the position. It will also give the interviewers a chance to meet me.

We do have some freezing rain here in Arlington. That could be means for a delay at the old DFW airport. Hopefully I'll have smooth sailings.

I'm on a roll

I'm trying to stay a little more consistent about making some posts before I go to Peru. This way I've got some practice and I won't be so intimidated when I sit down to write when I am writing updates and other such things. I enjoy writing but I have come to realize that I would rather keep my thoughts private than share them. It makes me uncomfortable to think that other people are reading my words...so, instead of babbling on here's something I spent a little more time thinking about:

Incomplete

Stay, stay
And please, my darling
Pray, pray

I need you in my life
Stay here by my side
Please, don't say you'll leave
Cause my life would be
Incomplete

We've grown together
And I want to grow old with you
We may not be love birds anymore
But we're birds of a feather

Let's pray to God
To heal us now
All this hurt
That we've choked down

Some people say
That it's all gone,
And that I have
treated you wrong

That's true...
But I want to love you

I need you in my life
Stay here by my side
Please, don't say you'll leave
Cause my life would be
Incomplete

Making an address book, Neal, and The countdown

Instead of always emailing my mom and asking her to send me a certain person's address, I am making my own address book! It is a very tedious task to make it but I think it will make life a little more "at my fingertips." I didn't know what other kind of address book to buy except a Moleskine brand, which is the brand that I use for my journal as well.

My brother Neal came in for the weekend! It is always good seeing him. We had a "watching old movies" event last night. We watched Young Frankenstein and The President's Analyst. The latter was a 60's spoof of a James Bond Thriller with some bad acting and sorry plot. I don't suggest watching it.

The countdown to go to Peru is about 3 weeks now. I am very excited and am amazed at how God works. I needed to fund raise about 2,000 dollars and I have gotten very close to that goal just within the last two weeks. There are some other costs that slipped throught the cracks during planning the budget: Medical insurance, Immunizations, etc. In the end I know that it will all come together.
